Jean-Michel Lucie started The Balloonery in 1987, one of the 3 original balloon businesses in Melbourne, Australia and opened the first Victorian shop front in South Melbourne. He attended his first balloon convention in the same year and started to spread his newly acquired knowledge by teaching his peers.

His proudest achievement is the invention of the Link-O-Loon in 1991. He held the Guinness Book of Records title for the largest balloon sculpture, work he undertook in Singapore in 1998. He has taught balloon artistry on 4 continents.

His forte is balloon decorating and his specialty is large displays. Naturally he incorporates the versatile Link-O-Loons in many displays. He invented a few new special effects, some of which are still exclusive.

Jean-Michel is a multiple award winner, including the highest recognition awarded by the Australian Balloon Industry.
